Background
Metals & Mountains was founded in fall 2022 by Andrew Bradbury of Orla Mining and his wife, Tierney Courage. After the loss of their first pregnancy, Tierney received compassionate care at Women’s College Hospital. Grateful for the support they received, the couple—both avid cyclists—launched Metals & Mountains as a way to give back. With strong support from Orla Mining, including CEO Jason Simpson, and partners across the mining industry, the ride and fundraiser continues to grow, helping advance care for women and gender-diverse people, while demonstrating the industry’s commitment to supporting healthy communities.

This year, Andrew and Tierney are organizing their biggest ride yet to bring a bigger pack of passionate cyclists to Blue Mountain and raise $500,000 for Women’s College Hospital, where they received compassionate care during one of their most challenging times.
In 2026, ride in Vancouver!
For the first time in 2026, Metals & Mountains will also include a Vancouver mountain bike ride, led by Orla’s west-coast CFO, Etienne Morin. The ride will now span both coasts, making M&M truly east and west. More details coming soon!
