CHAMELI NARAINE

Chameli Naraine served as the President & CEO of Symcor, one of Canada’s largest providers of business and payment processing services until her retirement in January 2025. Chameli joined Symcor in 2008 and assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer in 2011, where she took on a pivotal role in defining and steering the strategic direction of the company.

She is also the founder of the Naraine Family Foundation, which works internationally to promote education, health and wellness for women and children. Through her philanthropy, she seeks to drive change that enhances the lives of women and children, as “recent health, climate and public policy decisions are having a disproportionate and adverse impact globally, particularly among women, the poor and older adults.” The foundation reflects Chameli’s lifelong commitment of giving back.

Chameli’s career and philanthropic work have garnered recognition throughout her career.  More recently, she was awarded One of Canada’s Top 100 Women, Ascend Canada’s Pan-Asian Leader of the Year, and The Premier’s Award in Business for Ontario Graduates.  

Chameli has been a generous supporter of Women’s College Hospital Foundation, particularly in support of initiatives related to women’s aging and education. We are honoured to have the opportunity to recognize the extraordinary impact her immense charitable contributions have made to healthcare, education, women, children and communities across Canada.
